THE QUIET GROVE · CARE & CLARITY

Your words deserve care.

What is saved, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Effective October 8, 2026

Read freely as a guest

You can browse cards, receive readings, and download samples without an account. Your question and reflection remain in the current page until you choose to save them. If you choose sign-in from a completed guest reading, a temporary draft is stored in this browser tab to carry your reading through sign-in. It is removed when restored, when you clear it, or when you sign out through the site; drafts older than 24 hours are not restored. Browser session restoration may retain tab storage.

Use “Clear this reading” to remove the current page’s question, reflection, and temporary sign-in draft. This does not delete an entry you already saved to your account.

What your saved journal contains

When you press “Save to my journal,” we store an account identifier, the spread, selected cards and orientation, your question or intention, your reflection, and the creation date. Your sign-in provider also supplies identity information such as your name and email so the site can recognize your account. Journal entries are not public and are not shared with other visitors.

Sharing a reading

Sharing is optional and works without an account. “Share reading” sends a separate copy containing only the spread, cards, artwork choices, orientations, and their standard interpretations. “See what they’ll receive” opens that public copy before you send it if you wish. Your question, journal reflection, name, account identifier, and saved-entry identifier are excluded. No access to your journal is granted.

New links contain only public card choices in the page address so recipients can open the reading directly and sharing apps can display a preview. The hosting provider may process that address in its technical logs. Older links that contain a # symbol still open in the recipient’s browser. Anyone with the full link can view or forward this copy without signing in. Links cannot be revoked, and deleting a saved journal entry does not disable a shared copy. Sharing apps process links under their own privacy policies.

How access is protected

The server checks your signed-in identity and entry ownership when you read, save, export, or delete journal entries. Private responses are marked not to be cached. Different sign-in accounts have separate journals, even if they use the same email address.

Your journal is not end-to-end encrypted. The site operator and hosting providers can technically access stored data for administration, support, security, or legal requirements. Access controls reduce risk, but no service can promise absolute security. Avoid recording highly sensitive information or identifying details about other people.

Providers, local storage, and payments

OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare provide the website, hosting, and journal database. ChatGPT handles ChatGPT sign-in. Where email sign-in is available, Supabase verifies that account and its email delivery provider sends one-time codes. The site does not receive your ChatGPT password or ask you to create a site password.

The browser remembers your artwork preference. Email sign-in, where available, stores session credentials in your browser to keep you signed in. Hosting and sign-in providers may use necessary cookies and process technical information such as IP addresses, device details, and security logs.

This version does not add advertising trackers or use journal entries for advertising. Reading text is prepared in advance; the site does not send questions or reflections to an AI reading service. Payment providers process payment details under their own policies. The site does not collect card numbers. Venmo may show the recipient your profile, amount, and payment note; check your Venmo privacy settings and avoid including journal details.

Export, delete, and account recovery

Open “My journal” to download all your saved entries as a JSON file, delete an individual entry, or delete all entries after confirmation. The on-screen list shows the most recent 200 entries; the download and delete-all controls cover the whole journal for your signed-in account. Keep downloaded copies secure.

Saved entries remain until you delete them. Deletion removes them from the live journal database. Provider backups and security records may persist under provider retention rules; we do not promise immediate deletion of every backup. Deleting journal entries does not close your ChatGPT or email sign-in account. Contact us for help with additional privacy requests; we may need to verify your identity.

Recover sign-in through the same provider or email inbox you originally used. We do not move a journal to another account solely because someone claims an email address or knows details from an entry.

Shared devices and separate domains

Sign out when finished on a shared device. If you return using a different domain, you may need to sign in again; browser preferences and temporary drafts do not transfer between domains. Saved entries are retrieved using the same verified account.

Children and policy updates

The site is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us. We will update this page when the site’s data practices change and show the new effective date.
